It’s frustrating. Actually, it’s outright bonkers, and intentionally so.

There are 500 companies on the aptly-named Fortune 500 list, yet only a small portion track and publish workplace diversity statistics.

Worse yet, they track their data in different ways. One stat might be labeled the same, but if you read the fine print, it might be tracked differently across companies. Women % in tech might actually be self-identified women who work in anything that uses a computer.

Inconsistency between stats is just the beginning.

Although many are better than others with tracking and sharing data, companies are still in the…

Ever pondered the following questions…

  • How good/bad is my company’s data compared to others?
  • Are other organizations using data better than us?
  • How can we turn our “data monster” into a data friend?

Take the Business Data Wellness Quiz below and see how your business measures up. Tally your points as your go along, and see how your business data compares with others.

The horror and agony of bad data!

It’s okay to admit it. You can probably say one of the following (I won’t tell on you 😉)

Secret Data Confessions

  1. We can’t trust our CRM.
  2. We have a “secret” trusted dataset that only our department knows about.
  3. Our CRM data isn’t consistent.
  4. Our data is too scattered over many tools.
  5. We do most data work in Excel.
  6. I hate asking around for data.
  7. I don’t know how to get the data I need.

Don’t worry. It’s normal to not like your company’s data. In fact, I’ve seen it a lot at the different organizations that I’ve worked with.

But why? Why…

Pets. Pets. Pets. “Hey, have I told you what Mr. Sammy did this morning?” “Did I already tell you about my cat?”

Pets are a HUGE market, and it’s only growing in size. In short, I hope to let you know that now is the time to jump on this eCommerce ship before it gets gobbled up by others.

Why? Just check out the report by Research & Markets.

U.S. retail sales of pet products and services reached $107 billion in 2020, up 9% over 2019, due largely to a COVID-19 driven spike in the pet population.

And another

We agree Bertilla!

My company, is doing just this in the pet space.

Life is an unweilding wildery wilderness. Most days we just try to make it through the brush to get to the clearing, and very rarely do we ever get to see the path we’ve created from a bird’s eye view.

Um… Where am I?

That’s where data and dashboards come to the rescue!

With dashboards and good data, we can know where we’ve been and where we’re going. That’s why I tell all my friends to track their “game of life” stats, just like in the game, with their own personal “Game of Life” dashboard.

Your “Game of Life” Dashboard

My own “game of life”…

Cat Portraits. Dog Portraits. Where does it end!!?!

If you own a dog or cat, you’ve probably seen the slightly annoying ads like this…

I believe that most people are thinking of COVID-19 in the following light…

After over 60% of people become vaccinated for COVID in 2021, the world can return to normal.

Right?! That’s the plan! In the last part of 2021, the world can return to normal. No more lockdowns. No more masks. I can go back to the life I once adored.

Well… Maybe not.

The Fallacy We Want to Believe

I hear a lot of people asking some really good questions:

  1. When will it really be safe to travel again?
  2. What happens to social safety nets?
  3. Should economies really go back to where they were…

“Hey, let’s sell dog gear!”

This isn’t the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning, but it’s what I do now. Well, sort of…

I’ll be honest: selling cute dog collars isn’t my life’s passion. Don’t get me wrong. I love dogs, and I love my business, but my main goal in life is to help others succeed in their businesses. As backwards as it sounds, selling Hawaiian-themed dog collars was one path towards this business nirvana.

I’ll be honest. I love cheeky dog puns too. That’s the real reason I made the biz ;)

So… You Sell Dog Stuff?

Weird, right? It’s not a…

Me in Vietnam, life automated, drinking caphe sua da (Vietnamese coffee with milk).

Life is short, and so is our ability to worry.

Human beings were made to worry about things, many things. Work. Love. Kids. There are just too many things to worry about.

And that’s a problem because we only have a limited amount of stress and energy to give to things.

This is why I try to automate my personal life as much as possible, just as much as I do in my automation business. …
